Make sure your car in good condition and tank is filled with petrol before starting the drive to the small town of Pai, First, drive to the north of Chiangmai city then pass the Provincial Hall.

You will pass Mae Rim District Office and keep going for a total of 37 kms until reaching the T-junction of Mae Malai ( a sub-district ). Turn left and had toward Pai, another 97 kms distance. The road passes through small valleys where lowland farmers live. Of course, you will enjoy the very peaceful scenic highway.
